Hypnotherapy for anxiety & stress

Our therapy helps you understand what creates the anxiety that we feel and more importantly that it is a normal and natural part of being human. We all need a small amount of stress in our lives to motivate us to do what we have to do in our everyday lives.

We each experience anxiety in different ways and to differing degrees. It might show up as irritability or inability to cope with certain situations, waking during the night and feeling worried, unable to get back to sleep. It could be feelings of overwhelm or dreading certain situations or a low level constant feeling of uneasiness.

Relaxation is of crucial importance in our everyday lives. However modern life with all of its stresses, strains and complexities mean that for many of us relaxation, true relaxation can be elusive. We may believe that when we are watching TV or playing a game on our phone or enjoying a glass of wine at the end of the day that we are relaxing, however this is unlikely to be the case.

Hypnotherapy, or meditation is one of the easiest ways to begin to empty our “stress bucket” and to reach a deep state of true relaxation. True relaxation is vitally important for our physical and emotional wellbeing and to help us maintain a healthy lifestyle. When we are truly relaxed, we allow the problem solving, rational parts of our mind to light up enabling us to come up with solutions to the problems and issues that we face in our everyday lives. As part of an initial consultation with me you will be given a free audio relaxation track to help you with this skill. You can listen to it as you go to bed to promote a good night’s sleep or listen during the day to help you relax whenever needed.

Hypnotherapy for neurodiverse individuals support

Anxiety is a common experience for neurodiverse people. This anxiety may be experienced in a multitude of different ways, and no two people are the same.  Hypnotherapy can help to provide you, as a neurodiverse individual, with a clearer understanding of where your anxiety comes from and why you may be struggling with various aspects of your everyday life

The therapy can be provided in person if you live near the Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch area or online. During the sessions we will be focusing on developing this understanding, as well as giving you tools and strategies to help you to cope better with the things that you need to do. The best person to come up with the solutions for your situation is you and we as therapists (and hypnotherapists) are just there to guide you onto the right road for you. The relaxation sessions using hypnosis are gentle and enjoyable and you remain fully in control throughout the session. We encourage you to use your creativity and imagination to picture your preferred future and the sessions develop your confidence to move towards this.

Chronic pain is experienced by so many people and can have a devastating impact on a person’s day to day life. We know that a person’s experience of pain is significantly affected by their mental and emotional wellbeing.

Compulsive Behaviour affects many people, the effects ranging in severity from a tendency to recheck a couple of times if you’ve locked the back door at night to perhaps not being able to leave the house because of an overwhelming fear of treading on the cracks in the pavement. Solution focused hypnotherapy can help by giving a client a much better understanding of why we develop these behaviour patterns and of course what can be done to provide support and relief.

Hypnotherapy for IBS relief

IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome is very common affecting many people experiencing anything from mild stomach cramps to crippling pain. Hypnosis can provide support and relief here as well. We as solution focused hypnotherapists (SFH’s) understand that much of what a person experiences in their mind in terms of anxiety is almost simultaneously experienced in the stomach. The phrases “stomach churning” or “gut feeling” remind us that the stomach acts almost as a “second brain” in the body.
